Ministry of Altar ServerPurpose: An Altar Server is a liturgical minister who serves God and His people at Mass by assisting the priest and deacon and by performing various actions that make the Mass a community celebration.
Qualifications:
Scheduling: Altar Servers are scheduled according to the Mass time(s) they choose, at least once a month. Duration: Altar servers may serve at St. Mary parish as long as they'd like. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy CommunionPurpose: To serve the Eucharist at liturgical celebrations including Saturday and Sunday Mass, weekday liturgies, Holy Days, etc.
Qualifications:
Scheduling: You are scheduled according to the mass time you choose, at least once a month. Duration: You are commissioned for 3 years in the Diocese of Pueblo Training: Practical Training is held twice a year, usually Fall and Spring. Contact: Barb Lockwood 249-3319 ext. 12 |
Ministry of HospitalityPurpose: To be a welcoming face for people as they enter the church for liturgies and to assist the assembly with seating.
Qualifications:
Scheduling: You may choose one or more open slots on the annual schedule. Duration: Hospitality Ministers are commissioned for 3 years in St. Mary Parish. Training: Practical Training is held twice a year, Spring and Fall. One-on-one training is also available. Contact: Barb Lockwood 249-3319 ext. 12 |
Ministry of LectorPurpose: To proclaim the Word of God at scheduled or special liturgies.
Qualifications: The Diocese requires that lectors are trained prior to engaging in their ministry. Their training is comprised of these components:
Scheduling: Once a month or once every other month, or as needed. You may also be on a substitute list. Duration: As long as you'd like. Training: Training is held twice a year, usually Fall and Spring. One-on-one training is also available. Contact: Barb Lockwood 249-3319 ext. 12 |
Ministry of MusicianPurpose: To lead the Assembly in singing and to enhance the liturgy with music.
Requirements: You must be
Scheduling: At least once Mass per month, plus Holy Days, Weddings, Funerals, etc. Duration: You may serve as long as you'd like. Training: Practice individually or with a group. Contact: Sue Warren 901-0077 (cell) |
Ministry of SacristanPurpose: To prepare the things necessary for the celebration of the Liturgy: Books, communion vessels, bread, wine, etc., and ensure liturgical ministers are in place.
Qualifications: Any adult who is a member of St Mary Parish, preferably with experience as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist. Scheduling: At least once a month at weekend liturgies, and other various liturgies (Weddings, Funerals, Holy Days, etc.). Duration: At least 1 year; arrive 1 hour before Mass, leave about 15 minutes after Mass. Training: Training is available any time. Contact: Barb Lockwood 249-3319 ext. 12 |
